Apple is committed to achieving carbon neutrality across its entire carbon footprint by 2030. The core of this goal involves first reducing upstream and downstream Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions by 75%, followed by balancing the remaining emissions with high-quality carbon removal. Since 2015, Apple has reduced emissions by over 55% while increasing revenue by 64% over the same period. Apple focuses on decarbonizing three major emission sources across its value chain: materials, electricity, and transportation. The company prioritizes significantly reducing these emissions through impactful actions before considering offsets. For emissions that cannot be further reduced, Apple relies on high-quality nature-based carbon credits. It invests in carbon sequestration and removal projects to achieve its carbon neutrality target. Decarbonizing the supply chain is vital to Apple's 2030 plan. Apple is focused on innovative measures to significantly expand renewable energy adoption throughout its supply chain and uses recycled and renewable materials to manufacture its products.
